Running bears

This project has been over a year in the making. The original inspiration came from a limited edition watch featuring the iconic dancing bears. I appreciated their dial design but knew many people would never have the opportunity to own one. I set out to create my own version: a watch that could be worn daily, captured the same sense of joy and nostalgia while being a bit more accessible.

What began as an idea evolved through countless sketches, prototypes, and manufacturing experiments before arriving at this final design. Nearly every aspect of the dial, from the original artwork to the manufacturing process, has been designed, developed, and refined in house.

The process itself continues to shape each dial. Because they’re individually produced, no two are exactly alike. Subtle variations in texture, layer lines, and surface finish are a natural characteristic of how they’re made, giving every dial its own distinct personality. These aren’t defects to be hidden, they’re the marks of a process that values craftsmanship over perfect uniformity.

This is a Custom made Running Bear dial in a stainless steel case with a stainless steel bracelet that uses the Seiko NH35 Automatic movement. This custom-built watch is assembled in Denver, Colorado as part of the Cutthroat collection.  (Made to order up to two weeks)

It is custom built in the USA using a genuine Seiko automatic movement and aftermarket case, hands, and strap/bracelet. The dial is hand-made in Denver.
